How does a couple from Germany, he freshly graduated MBA and she, former Fashion Designer end up refinishing furniture in Florida?
Welcome to our story!
How it all began...
We both grew up in Germany and our lives took a wild turn when
Fatih scored a soccer scholarship to study for his MBA in the US at the University of Tampa.
Together, we jumped into this adventure, ready to tackle any challenges that came our way.
When Fatih's scholarship took a hit, we had to get creative to make sure he could still finish his degree.

Giving up was never an option! Our motto?
When life gives you challenges, get creative!

That´s when fate stepped in. Fatih spotted an old piece of furniture tossed on the curb,
and it got him thinking. Bringing it home, Jess, who knows a thing or two about design,
also got excited about finding out which potential might unfold.
What started as a little project turned into something amazing.
The first piece took us a week of hard work, but we were blown away by the transformation.

Starting in our backyard, we dreamed big. And when Fatih graduated with his MBA, we realized that with a bit of determination, we could really create something special!
This journey sparked a passion in Fatih he never knew he had and led us to open up our own workshop.
With lots of love, creativity, and a touch of magic,
we've developed a special way of working with our customers,
making sure each piece we create is as unique as they are.

MEET FATIH
Even though I just wrapped up my MBA in December, you won't catch me fitting into the typical corporate mold. Nope, I'm more of a hands-on, let's-build-something-awesome kinda guy! I've always been that way, even back in my childhood days when I'd tinker around the house, trying to spruce things up.
Growing up, we didn't have much, but that never stopped me from getting creative and DIY-ing my way through.
It's amazing what you can do with a little imagination and some elbow grease!
These days, I'm all about using my hands, tackling new projects, and finding inventive solutions. And you know what makes it even better?
Doing it all alongside my family. There's nothing quite like the satisfaction of building something together.
So yeah, while my MBA might be in the rearview mirror, I'm just getting started on this journey of creativity and craftsmanship.

MEET JESS
Ever since I was a kid, I've had this burning desire to create, to be an artist.
So, I followed my heart and pursued my passion by studying Fashion Design. Landing a job as a Designer with the renowned German brand, Hugo Boss, felt like a dream come true.
But somewhere along the way, I felt this pull towards something else, something more adventurous. There was a new side of me waiting to be explored, and I knew I had to take the leap.

Fast forward to today, and I discovered a new passion:
combining interior design with art.
At `The Woodpecker`I get to work closely with our incredible clients, making a real difference for them, creating a whole new customer experience.My favorite part? Guiding them through the design process, sharing inspiration and creativity every step of the way. And let me tell you, I absolutely adore what I do. It's a feeling that's infectious, and I hope you'll feel it too.So here's to embracing the journey, to discovering new perspectives, and to finding joy in every moment.

Why "The Woodpecker"
When I brainstormed about which animal would reflect Fatih best,
I couldn’t help but think about the woodpecker.
The eager and hard-working animal, with all its patience and lightness, reminded me of Fatih’s dedication when it comes to woodworking. It’ s also a clever and creative association to craftmenship and detailed work.
Fatih is all about birds, while Jess finds inspiration in studying them for her artwork.
Nature is our muse, even in our business name.

The spiritual significance of the Woodpecker really struck a chord with us.
It embodies everything we stand for: creativity, optimism, courage, determination, revival, and self-actualization.
Plus, it's all about seizing opportunities and never giving up on your dreams,
which perfectly mirrors our journey.
